Tiffany Reisz – “The King”

This is the 6th book in the Original Sinners Series and the 2nd book in the White Years quartet.

Kingsley is now my favorite Original Sinner.  I love the contrary aspects of his character.  To the general public, he is incredibly self-indulgent, but yet he isn’t selfish.  He goes to great lengths to provide for and assist those that he cares about.  He is well-educated, but acknowledges his ignorance in comparison to Soren.  He is physically strong, but yet he is still vulnerable.  He is unrepentant but respects certain aspects of the church.  He is protective, but can viscously attack when provoked.  Finally, I like how Kingsley draws decisive lines between right and wrong.

My absolute favorite (non-spoiler) part of the book was when Kingsley is speaking with Reverend Fuller’s assistant, Chastity.  Kingsley’s use of double entendre is hysterically amusing (and of course fitting for the 1/2 Frenchman).

The next in the series is “The Virgin” to be released on March 31, 2015.

Lorelei James – “Tied Up, Tied Down”

This is Book 4 in the Rough Riders Series.

Kade may be the closest thing to perfection: sexy, strong, helpful, thoughtful, good father, and has strong libido.  Let’s not forget – he’s also exceptional with rope.  He’s certainly perfect for Skylar whose mind is filled with “kinky bondage fantasies.”

Not to worry, Kade and Skylar make enough blunders to make for an interesting plot line.

In addition, the huge McKay clan adds humor and warmth, which make the Rough Riders a must-read series.

A Sweet Combo of Vanilla and BDSM

Vanilla and BDSM really go together quite well.  The above cake is a Frozen merengue cake with Vanilla Cinnamon Bailey’s Whipped Cream.  This pairs well with any of the following erotic romance novels: “Hot Ticket” by Olivia Cunning, “In Flight” by R.K. Lilley, “Sweet Surrender” by Maya Banks, “The Siren” by Tiffany Reisz, “Wicked Ties” by Shayla Black, or the “The Submissive” by Tara Sue Me.  A slice of cake and a book make for a perfect combination for dinner dessert.  Actually, the two go together well any time of the day.

Christina Lauren – “Dirty Rowdy Thing”

“Dirty Rowdy Thing”  #2 in the Wild Seasons Series

Christina and Lauren did again – they made me put my life on hold so that I could finish reading one of their books.  What else did they do?  They made me ruin my copy of the book.  I dog-eared so many pages where I absolutely loved the lines that now my copy is an absolute mess.  Unfortunately, I’m not going into detail about some of the non-PG rated quotes – you have to read the book.

Just as Harlow says “I think I have you locked down pretty tight”  Christina and Lauren have a lock on what love is about.  Harlow thinks to herself, “I realize while I’m watching him struggle with this that I sincerely just want Finn to be happy.”

I most adore the characters’ sarcastic use of nicknames and references to pop culture media.

All in all, a fun, hot, must-read book!

Laurelin Paige – Fixed Trilogy

Screen Shot 2014-10-22 at 8.17.31 AM

Okay, it is a little odd that there are four books in this “trilogy.”  But when an author does it well, who cares.  More is better!  I became fixed on the characters in the first of the series, “Fixed on You.”  I just finished reading the second in the series, “Found in You.”  Alyana and Hudson are two characters that I find myself rooting for like I’m at a sporting event.  Literally, I want to cheer when they get together and I want to yell at them to stop when they are being humanly stupid.  The tension and building of the story line had me on pins and needles.  If I had been watching a scary movie, I would have covered my eyes with just enough room to peek through the slits in my fingers.  I continued reading as quickly as I could to find out how everything would get resolved.  The author had a fantastic twist that had me sighing in relief.  I look forward to reading the next books in the series.
