Oops! I bought too many bananas last weekend. A win for my kids! They love the crumb topping.
Shelly Laurenston – “The Beast in Him”
Tussling and cherry pie – Oh My! This was a great humorous paranormal romance! The interplay between Jess and Smitty is consistently witty and entertaining. It is filled with fantastic running dialog between the characters throughout the entire book. My favorite is when Jess questions Smitty about teaching the pups the term, “Tussling.” Smitty responds, “Oh, you want me to be more specific?” My other favorite quote is, “He didn’t know what got to him more; the suction with which she sucked his fingers, the little sounds she made while she did it, or the way her eyes closed and her entire body rocked against him.”
There are many more books in the series. Next time I have PMS, I’m definitely reading the next in the series to help cheer me up.
Lauren Dane – “Making Chase”
Lauren Dane magnificently weaves together an ever growing cast of characters in her series: Chase Brothers. The abundant secondary characters in “Making Chase” richly add to the development of Matt and Tate’s relationship. What I liked most was the off the cuff, little addition at the end. It was so much better than a wrap-it-in-a-bow, cookie-cutter HEA. Wow! Perfect ending to a book and series.
to Lauren Dane!
Eve Carter – “Breathless”
Eve Carter takes the reader on a roller coaster of a ride. I went from being disgusted by Jesse, to feeling bad for Jesse, to liking Jesse, to being happy for Jesse, to caring about Jesse, and to worrying about Jesse. I really liked how the author dealt with the concept of using Jack Daniels as a therapist. It was a healthy balance of comedy and sarcasm.
Books, that leave you hanging at the end or with a huge cliff hanger, should come with a warning sign. WARNING: HAVE NEXT BOOK IN SERIES IN HAND OR SUFFER FROM ANTICIPATION.

Kylie Scott – Play
In Play, Mal Ericson is the epitome of a famous rock star drummer that has absolutely no filter on his tongue. The outrageous comments that come out of his mouth had me smiling in amusement the entire book. Awesome dialog! His playful nature made it impossible to put the book down.
For me, the great part about finding this series now is that there are two more waiting for me to read.

J.C. Reed – Conquer Your Love
Sometimes, “[L]ove happens in the blink of an eye.” This is the continuation of the story from Surrender Your Love. Jett is still a sexy, wealthy, green-eyed god that Brooke cannot resist. While Brooke is not a gold digger, it is hard not to be impressed by Jett’s gestures. He makes quite the impression!
In the midst of car chases and gun shots, I almost died laughing when Brooke and her best friend, Sylvie, each take a home pregnancy test where they cannot read the instructions because they are written in Italian.
to J.C. Reed!
Samantha Young – Echoes of Scotland Street
Cole may be the sexiest character ever. He looks like a bad boy, with all of his tats, but is passionate, trustworthy, romantic, fun, and has a firm sense of family. The chemistry between Cole and Shannon is palpable. The whole crew of friends that work at INKarnate are an amusing spirited group and adds a lot wittiness to the story. This is another hit by Samantha Young, where the growing “tribe” of friends and family expands. Another in the series is expected in summer of 2015. Can’t wait to hear Logan’s story.

Laura Kaye – Hard Ink
In Hard To Hold On To, the main character’s name, Easy, contrasts his mental healing. Non-spoiler alert, no one rides off into the sunset or gets married in the end, which makes the story more real. Recognizing a true kinship is more heartfelt than love at first sight. His poignant tat is notable:
“YOU WERE NEVER
CREATED TO LIVE
DEPRESSED,
DEFEATED, ASHAMED
OR UNWORTHY.
YOU WERE CREATED
TO BE
VICTORIOUS”

Kylie Scott – Lick
This was my first book by Kylie Scott. Lucky find for me! I totally agree with Evelyn, the main character, she is the “The luckiest fucking girl in the entire world.” Who wouldn’t want a huge rockstar writing love songs for her? David’s quiet gestures towards the end, make him irresistible. I plan to read the next three in the series.
to Kylie Scott!
