This series is what I would call a hot-fudge sundae series. It’s sinfully delicious. The main portion, or ice cream if you will, is the romance and attraction between the main characters Bianca and James Cavendish. Bianca is virgin airline stewart with a troubled past where her father wants to kill her. James is a billionaire, Dominant, with extensive sexual experience. The hot fudge would definitely be the steamy scenes between Bianca and James. Although, in Mr. Beautiful, we get treated to a taste of Stephen and Javier, too. I’ll call that part the hot caramel sauce, because it would be unexpected in a hot fudge sundae but makes it better than ever. The relationship between Bianca and her very best friend, Stephan, is the whipped cream portion of this dessert-like series. They are more than friends, they are family. They have depended on each other for years. Their relationship is tender like whipped cream and this sundae book wouldn’t be the same with out their friendship. Even James immediately realizes that Bianca and Stephen are a package deal. If he wants to be with Bianca, Stephen is included, too.
Mr. Beautiful, book four in this series, is the cherry on top. It is not necessary, but once you fall in love with the characters you just always want to get little bit more. This book contains snippets of perspectives from different characters concerning various portions of of the entire series. However the portions seem to be in a rather random order. It is as if the sundae were thrown in a blender and turned into a fantastic shake. It is a different dessert but still great. I enjoyed getting a better feel for James. He is surprisingly loving when he explains, “The inside jokes, the shared humor may have just been the best part about sharing my life with my soul mate.” We also get to take a peak into the relationship between Stephan and Javier. Stephan is the best friend that Bianca could ever have and certainly is entitled to his happily ever after. There are some after the series mini epilogue sections, too.
If you liked 50 Shades of Grey or the Crossfire Series, I would highly recommend this series. Please note that you need to read books 1-3 before reading Mr. Beautiful.
