Not all thesauruses are created equal. Thank goodness there are a lot of choices, depending on the word or need.

This thesaurus gives more word options than I have ever seen. The words are also grouped by parts of speech as well as intended meaning. For example, the word “sad” can mean: being mournful or feeling sorrow; distressing or causing sorrow; somber or dull; sad because one has no friends or company; not capable of being repaired, cured, regained, or undone; not great in amount or number; or depression in a season, mainly winter.
I came across this thesaurus when looking for synonyms for polyamory and was frustrated many resources that either didn’t offer any synonyms or the synonyms were biased.
