Chicago St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Chicago has been pouring dye into the river for over sixty years. Originally, 100 pounds of dye was dumped in the river in order to clean up the waterfront areas. The dye left the river green for an entire week. Today, the river is dyed with 40 pounds of environmentally-friendly dye, which is vegetable based and actually is orange in color. Two motor boats are used to color the river emerald green. One boat dumps the powder and the other boat acts to stir it. The dye typically lasts four to five hours, but can last up to 24-48 hours.
Dyeing of the river has become a Chicago tradition and is dyed in coordination with the Chicago St. Patrick’s Day parade.

Luck of the Irish

With St. Patrick’s Day around the corner, the luck of the Irish is flowing like the green-dyed Chicago River. I think luck plays an important role in romance, love, and all relationships. And on the fun side, most phrases with luck have a sexual suggestion or could at least be used to describe someone’s chance at getting sex.
The Intersection Of Jealousy and Envy
When someone is feeling jealous, they are often feeling envious as well (Psychology Today)

Jealousy and envy are often considered synonymous, but the words don’t truly mean the same thing.
“One might almost say that these two words are used as if they were interchangeable … The words are scarcely synonymous, however. Envymeans discontented longing for someone else’s advantages. Jealousy means unpleasant suspicion, or apprehension of rivalship.
—Theodore M. Bernstein, The Careful Writer, 1965There are three different ways in which jealous can be used. The most common is … where the meaning is “fearful of losing attention.” Another broad sense is “possessive” or “protective” … third usage is in the sense of “envious,” as of another person because of his or her belongings, abilities, or achievements.
—William and Mary Morris, Harper Dictionary of Contemporary Usage (2nd ed.), 1985Jealousy is properly restricted to contexts involving emotional rivalry; envy is used more broadly of resentful contemplation of a more fortunate person.
https://www.merriam-webster.com/words-at-play/jealous-vs-envious
—Bryan A. Garner, Garner’s Modern American Usage (3rd ed.), 2009″
Jealousy is a feeling of resentment, bitterness, or hostility toward someone who has something that you don’t.
Envy is a negative feeling of desire centered on someone who has something that you do not.
https://www.dictionary.com/e/jealousy-vs-envy/
The main difference between envy and jealousy is that envy is the emotion of coveting what someone else has, while jealousy is the emotion related to fear that something you have will be taken away by someone else.
Example: I envy her possessions or situation. I am jealous that you like her over me.
https://www.diffen.com/difference/Envy_vs_Jealousy
Envy is when we lack a desired attribute enjoyed by another, whereas jealousy is when something we have is threatened by a third person.

Erotic World Book Day

March 5, 2023
“Spice up your week with Erotic World Book Day, which happens on March 5th. Erotic literature, either fictional or non-fiction stories, is intended to arouse passionate, romantic, or sexual feelings in readers. And it has always existed! With the invention of printing in the 15th century, erotic literature was brought to a broader audience, thus leading to censorship. This genre covers a vast spectrum of scenarios and sexualities, from gay, straight, fantasy, sci-fi to real-life memoirs. Erotic World Book Day is the opportunity to show the wealth of erotic variety, while it has been overshadowed by Fifty Shades of Grey in recent years. In 2015, award-winning erotica authors Victoria Blisse and Emily Dubberly, who founded the women’s sex website Cliterati, took this opportunity to raise funds for a charity focused on sex education awareness.”
