Overcoming Your Reading Slump: Tips and Tricks

What gets you out of your reading slump?

It’s been a slow year for me so far in terms of reading. I found reading a few nonfiction books helped recalibrate my joy in reading.

I’m back now, and looking for all those new ways authors present a romance.

Some people ask if I ever get tired of reading all romance. For the most part, I don’t. Perhaps an occasional slump here or there. I don’t believe it is a reflection on the quality of the books I am reading. It is more about how real life affects my ability to find pleasure in reading. That is one of the reasons why I never post negative reviews.

Happy Valentine’s Day

No matter what your relationship status is on this commercial holiday, take a moment to enjoy whatever brings you love today.

We all need a little more love in our lives.

What’s on your Valentine’s Day wish list?
Chocolate?
Candy?
Flowers?
Dinner?
Jewelry?
Lingerie?
Other?

Cinnamon Popcorn (made with Red Hots Candy) is my newest favorite treat. That’s what I made for myself.

Creative Romance Month

February is the month of love and romance, but it isn’t just about Valentine’s Day or Galentine’s Day.

This month is about finding creative ways to show love for yourself and the people you care about.

Ways to show love through books:

  1. Buy someone a book from their TBR
  2. Take someone to the bookstore for a date and buy them a book instead of a drink
  3. Curl up and read beside someone
  4. Pick up someone’s library holds
  5. Bring someone their favorite drink while they’re reading (and then don’t disturb them)
